Emma Gobiet

Emma Gobiet is a PhD student at the Ageing and the End of Life at the End-of-Life Care Research Group of Vrije Universiteit Brussel participating in the European Research Council (ERC)-funded project TRAJECT (2023-2028).

During her MA in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Emma Gobiet did an ethnographic study on end-of-life trajectories of elderly people with an outspoken death wish in Flemish nursing homes. Within the project TRAJECT (2023-2028), she will conduct repeated, narrative interviews with older people living with serious chronic illness to better understand their experiences of their end-of-life trajectories.
